Three steps to your first dictation

  1. 01

    Download and install

    Open the file for your computer and install Kugel Dictation like any other app.

  2. 02

    Connect your KugelAudio account

    Click Connect KugelAudio account in the app, sign in on kugelaudio.com and choose the project your dictation is billed to.

  3. 03

    Hold the shortcut and speak

    Hold fn on a Mac, Ctrl + Win on Windows or Ctrl + Super on Linux, and speak. Let go, and the text appears where your cursor is.

Each file is listed with its SHA-256 checksum, so you can check that your download is complete and unchanged.

What it costs

The app is free. Dictation is billed as Kugel Ear 1 usage to the organization you connect.

Privacy

Your audio goes to KugelAudio to be transcribed, and for nothing else. Your dictation history stays on your computer, encrypted.

macOS
macOS 10.15 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
Windows
Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
Linux
Linux on x86_64 in an X11 session, with a Secret Service keyring (GNOME Keyring or KWallet) and PulseAudio or PipeWire. Wayland is not supported yet.
